Diploma of Business (Volunteer Management) added to pre-approved courses for 2007
We are pleased to confirm that the Diploma of Business (Volunteer Management) - which is highly regarded as an important qualification in the sector - has been added to the list of pre-approved courses for scholarship funding in 2007.
The Diploma of Business (Volunteer Management) is a suite of 8 units offered via distance learning at a cost of $1,500. The units cover a range of human resource and business related skills which are extremely relevant in today’s climate where Volunteer Managers are expected to provide professional services both to the volunteer program and to the volunteers. Students can, as part of their assessment, complete a range of workplace projects resulting in improvements in aspects of their volunteer program such as policies and procedures, recruitment and induction processes or even increased funding. Students receive support from their assessor and can attend our competency-based workshops free of charge.
The School of Volunteer Management is a Registered Training Organisation and along with Volunteering NSW, forms the Centre for Volunteering. The School provides training for volunteers and Volunteer Managers / Co-ordinators both through workshops and workplace learning via distance learning.

One fully funded scholarship (course fees only) under Part A will be offered in 2007, along with up to 5 education subsidies (50% of course fees) under Part B.
