2007 promises to be a good year for Not-For-Profit (NFP) professionals in Australia and New Zealand with Advanced Solutions International (ASI) announcing a boost of nearly 20% to its ASI SMART Company Scholarship Fund. Established just a year ago, the fund has received overwhelming interest from the NFP sector.
The ASI SMART Company Scholarship Fund is open to professionals wanting to undertake study directly relevant to their work in the NFP sector across Australia and New Zealand. ASI works with more than 400 Australasian fundraising organisations and associations providing software solutions and support via its leading product iMIS.
“This is about making NFPs stronger and smarter,†says ASI Managing Director and Fund Chair Paul Ramsbottom who enjoys his role as a corporate Fairy Godfather. “The scholarships help individuals take the next professional step. A bigger fund for 2007 means more strength to NFPs.â€
Professionals working at DeafSA, Royal New Zealand Plunket Society, North Shore Heart Research Foundation, Aged and Community Services Association of NSW and the Mental Health Research Institute are among those to have just received a late Christmas present from the most recent funding round. They will soon embark on IT training, fundraising skills and business management courses courtesy of the fund.
More than $21,000 in scholarships were awarded in 2006 with 24 individuals from NFPs across Australia and New Zealand benefiting. Funding will be increased to $25,000 in 2007. Scholarships are announced quarterly. ASI is looking forward to the next round of applications for the March round of scholarships. Details at www.advsol.com/ap/scholarship.
